My air conditioning is on. It's November 30th. Something is seriously wrong with this picture.

I understand that your house is a mess, what with 17ft scaffolding in the foyer, dust, and the like, but really must you use me every night between the hours of 11 PM and 2 AM? I am "off". We ironed out the 9-5 hours early in our relationship, but now three nights in a row, you come down and stuff me with a Tinkerbell comforter, a Strawberry Shortcake fleece blanket, and if that's not enough you sit there and wait for me to finish, then you have the audacity to remove those items, and add a mattress cover, a sheet, some pillow cases, and some pillows. Are you so bold to think that you can create this work for me in my off hours?
So your kid is up puking in her bed every night since Monday, I don't care. Oh and you set me to "hot", but you forget, "hot" does not work when you are using all the hot water for one of those midnight baths. Oh and another thing, why would your Mom feed a kid with a tummy bug Chili? We washing machines are not equipped with garbage disposals, you know, nor is the drain on the bath tub. Now go clean out these onions and peppers because I'm not doing it.
Quit it, or I'm going on strike.

Mine was fine, up until about 4 o'clock today, I think the picture states it all. Yeah, The Suit, who will now be known as Fucking Idiot, decided to "help" our neighbors by showing them a damper on our heating system in the attic......well wouldn't you know he "missed a step" and instead of standing a the rafter (which is idiotic on it's own) he plunged his entire leg through our ceiling. Our 18 foot high continuously painted ceiling. We have a huge Christmas Eve party at our house, all I have to say is it better be fucking fixed and looking spectacular. The best part was I was standing directly below the insulation snow storm and thought his stupid ass was going to fall on my fucking head. Asshole. Happy fucking holiday weekend.

Laugh if you may, snicker behind my back, think I'm crazy, but I LOVE BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING! So, so, so fun! This year I really did not need much, but the fun of it gets me out. I was up at 4:00 AM, showered and out the door by 4:30 (I'm not one of those gross unshowered shoppers!), at Wal-Mart by 4:45. The big (and I mean BIG) item was a $35.00 air hockey table for the girls. A silly purchase, but actually if air hockey were to become an Olympic (and it may, you never know!) sport R would be in a training camp in China right now. That girl can push a puck with the best of them. Not an easy item to maneuver through the throngs of people fighting over twenty dollar radio control Hummers and thirty five dollar cashmere sweaters, but I managed.
Off to Staples. Got some DVR's and a flash drive......off to Lowes....$1.49 poinsetta plants, got 8 of those, and a wrapping paper container, and I threw in a over the door shoe organizer since I need to put them on very available door for storing "little things", instead of a "junk drawer" I have "junk doors".....four of them to be exact...and counting.
Off to Target, picked up a few movies, a few plug and play games for the girls, a V-smile cartridge for C, and some LIttlest Pet Shop stuff...then off to Radio Shack for a new keyboard and some other odds and ends. Swung by Dunkin's (only two in town and far away, otherwise I would have gone earlier to re-charge), picked up a dozen donuts for the Suit and the Kidlets and a cup 'o joe for me....back in the garage by 7:30 AM, just in time to see the little turkeys straggle downstairs for their donuts!
Fun, fun, fun.
P.S.: Turkey day was fine, other the fact that R woke up puking and puked for about six hours, only to head to Dr. Auntie's where a dose of phenergan did the trick and she played all afternoon, as if she was never sick. Something nice about heading to the Doctor's house for the holiday with a puking kid and the "bucket" in the van.......makes you feel less guilty for infecting others......it was more like a trip to Urgent Care. without the fifty dollar co-pay. Good times, good times.
Hope everyone else had a great couple of days...I'll be turning in early tonight.

So this whole school thing is really paying off for R. Last week she blurted out a lesson on the food pyramid, complete with healty choices, etc, this week over pancakes she decided to recite the Pledge of Alligance. I love that stuff, thankfully she's one smart cookie, I won't make any comments on who she takes after, I'll let you do the math.
She came back from vacation and had a tough few days at school since new "cliques" had formed in her absence, nothing like sending your 4 year old to Survivor Island Pre-School, I can only imagine what the elementary school years will hold.
Newsflash, I'm creating my own entertainment. Last year Christmas was a huge let down, and we missed the annual Christmas Eve celebration, so instead of sitting around moping about where we aren't I've decided to throw my own bash. I've already invited some people and they were all positive and planning on coming, which is exciting. All in the area (T that's you), or those of you that feel up to traveling to the Southland, hit my house Christmas Eve, you won't be disappointed! I promise.
Now for my braggy part of my post....done....yes, done. With what you might ask? Christmas shopping. I have one thing to get on Black Friday, and even that isn't really a necessity, but y'all know how I adore going out the day after Thanksgiving at 4:00 AM...it has been 4 years now, I can't give up that tradition! I can't believe the shopping is done...oh and I also already took the pictures for the card......now to do my "letter". I have to do that when I'm feel especially sarcastic and witty since I know I have a reputation to uphold.
Ok...well I'm off to move the mouse...that's work to me.
Toodles. (guess I've watched that Holly Hobbie movie a few too many times)

So "THE VACATION". Well it was great! Truly wonderful. We left Saturday morning at 6:00 AM; we splurged on one of those car top bag carriers, which was a great move, freed up a ton of space in the van. We picked up Mom at about 6:15, and we were off! We quickly discovered that the remote to the portable DVD player wasn't working, not a deal breaker, but a nuisance. We stopped off to get gas near a Wal-Mart, so in I ran to pick up the random paper-thin watch battery to fit the remote. All was well! The girls did not sleep the entire way down, I was shocked. They were awake the whole time, up until we got to Orlando, where the scenery got interesting, and then they crashed. For the record the third weekend in October is Biketober in Florida. Read: HARLEY'S, whizzing by at ridiculously high rates of speed without helmets. Nice scenery, indeed. There was a wreck on the 4, so we were tied up for a while and saw them load the body of one of the Biketober casualties into an ambulance. We made it to the house by 4:15. So a little over ten hours, but we did stop for lunch, and plenty of potty breaks. I vowed never to make my children suffer when the need to pee struck, my Dad was famous for making us wait up to 100 miles, asshole, but that's another entry entirely. So the house was fine, our own pool, and plenty of space. 2200 sf. It was in Davenport, which is West of Orlando off 192, the neighborhood was "ok", it photographed better than it was. I'd absolutely do a house, again, just a newer one and a little closer to Disney. We were 10 miles, which wasn't too bad, but I'd just prefer closer, y'know? Sunday we woke up early and were at the gates of Magic Kingdom by 8:30. We saw the opening and Mickey and Friends on the train, the girls were psyched. We took the double stroller that was a Godsend, wheeled right on the monorail. The girls were so excited when they saw the castle on the way in, I think they finally "got it'. Walking down Main Street all the cast members were waiving "hello" and the girls were truly stunned. It was so fun. We headed right to Pooh (too scary), then Dumbo, then Small World (Riley had a melt down), met Ariel, hit Toontown, met Chip n Dale, saw Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee (too scary), met Aurora, met Mickey, rode Goofy's roller coaster (R refused, C was scarred for life, I'm sure), then we rode the carousel and Dumbo three more times. We went to the Enchanted Garden where Belle did a story and she used the audience as the "cast". Wouldn't you know whom she selected as "The Beast"? Yep, the Suit. He was so funny, and the people sitting around us asked if he knew he'd be selected since he was such a ham! I think he has a future as a Cast Member!
After that we went back to the house for a swim and lunch. We went back at night and did Aladdin's carpet, drove the cars, rode Buzz Lightyear, rode Dumbo (see a pattern), went to Mickey's Philharmonic, which was so fun and C was hysterical she was a ball of emotions laughing, crying, screaming, grabbing, it was truly a highlight of my trip. We parked far away that night and decided to forgo the mob waiting at the trams after the Hallowishes Fireworks, that were amazing, and walk to the car. "Happy". We waked for miles in search of "Happy" and we decided that the parking areas at Disney should be named "Disgruntled", "Pissy", "Angry", etc. When we got the car, R was still awake (C had been passed out for a hour), and when we got her into her car seat, she decided she needed to get sick, so out we went and the poor kid puked. We think it was from the excitement, guess she's like her Mommy and gets all wound up and then just loses it, I hope she doesn't get a migraine on her wedding day too! The next day we slept in and Mom and I dropped the Suit off at Animal Kingdom with the girls and we hit the outlets. Good shopping Orlando! I had such a nice time with my Mom and we were talking and I don't' think that we have done anything without the kids since I had them, that's weird, but it was a good day. We went to Downtown Disney, found Bippitty Boppity, and then picked up the kids and the Suit at Animal Kingdom. They had a great day, and LOVED the parade. That night Mom babysat and the Suit and I went to Tu Tu Tango and met Alison's new man, Daaaaaaaa ve. He was really nice and for the record looks like a thin Tim McGraw. Not Phil McGraw, Tim. Tuesday we hung out in the pool and then went to Downtown Disney for the girls Bippity Boppity Boutique appointment. R woke up with some allergy thing and the weather was really cool, so she was all runny, but she was a trooper. We gave her Tylenol and thought she was fine….of course you've seen the pictures, her nose and eyes started to run the moment she got in the beauty chair! She still had a blast. Her fairy God Mother was spectacular, C's was ok, but R's was so memorable. After the "Diva Disney" do, where C left looking like the Dog the Bounty Hunter we had dinner at the Rainforest Café, which was "too scary". Then we headed to Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. We pulled a slick move and went against the tide and found a space in the very front row! Score!!! We wheeled onto the boat and off to the Magic Kingdom we went. R was Ariel after having a fit in the car and refusing to wear her Princess Annalise dress that she insisted on having that I painstakingly altered, so Mom and I ran into Wal-Mart and got her the whory Ariel costume that was ill fitting instead of dealing with a grump, and C was a cross between Tinkerbell, The Dog Bounty Hunter, and his wife Beth…very scary!

We drove the cars, rode Dumbo (pattern?), rode Aladdin's magic carpets, met Jasmine and Prince Eric, saw the parade, ate some pastry, saw the fireworks, the girls passed out and the Suit and I walked onto Space Mountain (no wait!), we were home by 11, the girls were zonked. Wednesday we went to Islands of Adventure and Universal courtesy of Alison, and had a blast. I LOVE Islands of Adventure. The girls loved SeussLand and rode everything again and again. We met tons of characters, The Suit and I rode the Hulk 3 times, Dueling Dragons, Spiderman, you name it, and we rode it. The lines were zero and the weather was spectacular. My Mom loved both parks and was so content to sit with the girls and people watch. They have lots of street entertainers too, which was really cool. We got to have lunch with Alison too, which was really nice. The girls love Alison, I wasn't sure they'd remember her, but they did, and they will, they love her! That night we just went to the house and swam and grilled hot dogs. We all crashed pretty early. Thursday we went to Sea World, which was highly recommended by my sister. We loved it. I'd been when I was a kid, but didn't remember much. We petted dolphins, fed stingrays, and saw the dolphin/whale show. That show was so good. I wasn't expecting it to be so theatrical. I'd say Sea World is a must see, I really loved it. R hit her stride that day and rode the Shamu roller coaster about 9 times. She LOVED it.

She was very reserved all week, but at Islands of Adventure and Sea World she really fell in love. That night Mom watched the girls and the Suit and I went out to dinner at Bahama Breeze, then we went to see Alison's apartment. We were exhausted and were home by 11. We decided to leave Friday instead of Saturday. The Suit had to work on Sunday and really we did everything that we wanted. We were very happy with our trip and decided a day at home to unpack would be nice. So we left around 9:00 on Friday and were home by 7:00. The girls were great in the car; my Mom was a huge help the entire week. I wasn't sure how a week would be with her, but truly she was wonderful, and so helpful. We both agreed that she was a huge asset. We all got to do what we wanted, and she loves seeing the girls' excitement. We came home and the minute I sent the picture email my pc died. I was very proud of myself though I was able to swap out the power supply and while I was "in there" I also installed a DVD drive! I'm quite proud of myself, it was all pretty easy. So we're back up and running, life is good, we're settling back in, and looking forward to our next big vacation….we're thinking St. John, 2008!

I know I still owe a vacation blog entry, but this one just could not wait. So today I was in the bathroom taking care of business, when I noticed this: Can you read it? It says: "Have a Happy Period". My day immediately brightened. I love the folks at Always, they can "Always" make me happy. Really I was feeling a little glum on the last day of the old lady, but then "Have a Happy Period", just jump into my panties and made the day well.....happy. I have a recommendation for the folks at Playtex, how about tampons that when they are discarded turn into a large dinosaur in the potty? Like those little sponges that you buy in the candy machines, that triple in size in water? I guess they'd really have to perfect the technology though, imagine on one of those "heavy days" trying to dislodge a crocodile from your nether regions? That might hurt, especially if the croc decided to grow horizontally instead of vertically, but vertical might be bad too...."no I'm not eating lunch today, I have a two ton croc lodged in my crotch, pushing on my esophogus". Hmmmm...I think I'm onto something here. To all my fellow mense ladies, from my heart to yours, 'Have a Happy Period', or as they apparently say in France: "Bonne et heureuse semaine". Sounds really classy with a French accent if you ask me. Again no spell check, I'm leaving that to you.

Way behind. Pretty in Pink.
Oh so much to blog about, but no time! I promise this weekend I'll do the vacation synopsis, but for now here's a picture of Frick and Frack from last night. I think this year they finally "got" it! They had a blast, weather was beautiful mid-60s, no rain! I have no idea why I continue to showcase the mailbox in these photoshoots....coming soon to a mailbox near you, "Christmas Card 2006" featuring Frick, Frack, and "the Box"! Be on the lookout.
